Career and specialization

Marina is a lawyer who specializes in the area of privacy and data protection, blockchain technologies and artificial intelligence based tools, outsourcing, intellectual and industrial property, e-sports, e-commerce and cybersecurity. She has extensive experience in a variety of industry sectors and works with national and international clients - either suppliers or customers - in both public and private sectors. Additionally, Marina guides technology companies in their expansion into new markets and offers advice on cross-border transactions, favoring their innovation and business transformation.

Before joining Samaniego Law, Marina worked with the law firms such as EY Abogados, Garrigues, Jones Day and Pinsent Masons. In addition, she was a secondee in legal departments of companies, among which were IBM and Wizink, where her work consisted mainly of the implementation and review of compliance with the applicable regulations on privacy and data protection.

Education

Marina graduated with a degree in Law and Business Studies from the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas in Madrid and has a Master's Degree in Intellectual and Industrial Property from the same university. She also completed a program on Law and Blockchain at the Instituto de Empresa business school. Marina is a member of the Madrid bar and is licenced to practice law in Spain.

Other relevant information

Marina has extensive teaching experience and regularly collaborates with the San Pablo CEU University and the Instituto de Empresa giving classes on the subject of privacy, blockchain and smart contracts and has also carried out numerous data protection training for companies. In addition, Marina has published several articles on privacy issues and IT law.

Marina is fluent in Spanish and English and has a good knowledge of French.
